Le Marche House Hunting and Buying Services

House Hunting in Ascoli Piceno

I have been living in Le Marche for 4 years in the beautiful village of Petritoli. You can find out more about myself by reading my blogs posted on this site.

I work as a house hunter in the southern part of Le Marche. It started quite accidently, with locals asking me if I had any friends who wanted to buy their houses. Today, I have over 300 properties available as well as contacts with several of the local agents who have their own properties for sale.

It is impossible to buy a house from a website (although you will see from my blog that that is exactly what I did)!! It is also extremely difficult to work out what clients want from a handful of emails or even from phone calls. Until clients visit the area and tour a number of houses with me I can never be really sure what they want in terms of type of property and location.

And of course we always are left with the determining factor: BUDGET! There are too many expats here who have had their dreams shattered, when they realise that their dream home will not be finished as they have run out of capital. Buying an old farm or a townhouse for next to nothing is all very well, but you cannot live in it and it is going to cost a lot of money to restore.

The key to finding the right property is compromise. You may have to sacrifice the mountain view, the extra bedroom, the extra land or something else. However, as long as your expectations are realistic you should find a suitable property.

Do not forget the importance of location and how it can influence prices. End of road, sea or mountain view, hilltop position, close proximity to sea etc etc always cost a little bit more. This area is however beautiful, and the valleys with their cliffs, woods, sunflowers, vines and olives offer some breathtaking views. Also, closer to the mountains and further south, property prices should be lower.

If you would like me to help you find a property then please contact me. I deal with both townhouses and country properties.

I am also available to offer help and advice to those who have already found or bought their house in the area but who are experiencing difficulties, whether with the agent, the “geometra”, the builders etc.

Regards

Jo Williams
